The job market is hungry for innovation
At first glance, the Dutch labor market appears to be thriving — with record-high job vacancies, strong workforce participation, and low unemployment. But beneath the surface, the reality is far more complex.
The Netherlands now has one recruitment agency for every 435 employed people, and over 1% of the labor force is involved in job placement. With nearly 3,000 active job boards and a government-run UWV platform that struggles to function effectively, the Dutch labor market ranks among the least transparent in the world.

Even though the official launch is set for June 16, dozens of employers have already come on board since the soft launch on March 16. Big names like Exact, the Ministry of Defense, PostNL, DHL, Middin, Schiphol, AXS, Lely, and Technical Valley have joined. The goal? To kick things off with at least 1,000 committed employers ready to make their mark. Silver medallists — strong candidates who narrowly missed out on being hired — are shared within the network.
